The material, no shortcuts
Tempered glass only. Never annealed glass. The added strength and the way it breaks are the entire reason glass belongs in a kitchen — not an optional upgrade.
AMIENIV does one thing: use a material that absorbs nothing, to make the one object in your kitchen that has no business growing anything. No filler SKUs. No products that exist just to pad out a catalog.
"The plastic board looked clean. Then I held it up and smelled onion — two days after I washed it. Where does the smell live? In the scratches."
How It Started
The original problem was mundane. Our plastic board was two years old, covered in knife scars, and still smelled after washing. So we switched to wood. The smell went away — until the board started going black on the back during the humid season.
That's when we tried glass. The concerns were specific, and worth naming: Will it be too slippery? Will it chip? Will one cut ruin a knife? It turned out slipperiness is solved with feet, and chipping and edge wear depend on how well the tempering and the intended use match up. Once we broke the problem into those parts, the answer was obvious.
What We Won't Compromise On
Tempered glass only. Never annealed glass. The added strength and the way it breaks are the entire reason glass belongs in a kitchen — not an optional upgrade.
Glass has a real weakness: heavy bone-in chopping. That is on our product pages, in plain language. We don't only list the upside.
Transit is the real risk with glass. On top of the packaging, we replace or refund anything that arrives damaged. No back-and-forth, no arguing over fault.
Craft & Quality Control
These are the steps we actually run. Every batch is retained as a sample, so a defect can be traced back to the stage that caused it.
Milestones
[Replace] The dates and milestones below are placeholders. Swap in your own history.
Started from a home-kitchen problem and completed the first tempered glass board prototype with a foot design that actually held.
Settled on 16"×12" and 12"×8" as the two core sizes, which became the 4-piece set.
Settled the rubber-foot design after pull-testing several versions, so the boards stay put without leaving marks on the counter.
Opened wholesale, private label, and dropshipping programs to supply more channels.
